Box Score DANVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2014) – Three goals by Hannah Selner led rival Rhodes past the Sewanee women's soccer team Saturday in semifinal action of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament on the campus of Centre College.
The Lynx advanced to Sunday's championship match.
After both teams failed to score in the first half, Selner sparked Rhodes the final 45 minutes. The Lynx forward netted her first goal in the 47th minute off a cross from teammate Emma Selner.
She then fired in her second goal 13 minutes later. Finally, Selner would add the final score only four minutes later when teammate Shannon Donelson placed a beautiful corner kick into the box.
Overall, Rhodes finished with a 12-6 advantage in shots. The Lynx also added eight corner kicks.
Saturday marked the end of the 2014 season for the Tigers. Sewanee finished with 12-6-0 overall record. That win total was the most for Sewanee since 2010.
Finally, the loss against Rhodes was the final match for seniors Grace Priest, Emily Driver, and Jamie Samociuk.
