Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2013) – Freshman Shelby Meckstroth kicked off her Sewanee career with a bang, as the first-year student-athlete netted two goals to lead the Tigers past Agnes Scott Saturday at Puett Field.
With 19:06 off the clock in the first half, the New Orleans, La., native scored her first career goal when Katie Morrison found her classmate inside the box.
Then later in the half, a pass from Emily Driver led to Meckstroth's second goal at the 31:14 mark.
For the remainder of the match, Sewanee dominated every offensive statistic.
In fact, Sewanee did not allow a single shot while playing most of the contest in their attacking third.
Along with Meckstroth, Morrison fired six shots while Allie White, Tyler Edell, Jamie Samociuk, and Ellie Quinn all had multiple attempts.
Sewanee will now look to stay unbeaten as regional-rival Covenant travels to the Mountain for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, Tuesday.
