ATLANTA (March 2, 2013) – The No. 18 Sewanee women's tennis team split a pair of matches against No. 4 Emory and Agnes Scott on a cold Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.
After the Tigers dropped a 6-3 decision against the nationally ranked Eagles, Sewanee rebounded with a 5-1 victory over Agnes Scott.

The Tigers opened play against Emory with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions.
After Emory won at No. 3, Bronte Goodhue and Anne Garland outlasted Stephanie Loutsenko and Emma Taylor, 8-5.
Moments later, sisters Lindsey and Jenny Liles defeated Gabrielle Clark and Annette Sullivan, 8-6.
After defending NCAA Division III National Champion and current No. 1 ranked player Gabrialla Clark earned a victory to open singles action, Emory took a 3-2 lead when regionally ranked No. 9 Beatrice Rosen won at No. 3.
Emory extended its lead when Sullivan earned a 6-4, 6-2 straight set win over Annie Veron.
Sewanee's lone individual win came on Court Two when regionally ranked No. 6 Jenny Liles showed her stamina against fellow ranked player No. 3 Jordan Wylie 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

After Goodhue and Garland won again in doubles, Connor Thomas and Mariah Smith put Sewanee up 2-1 early against Agnes Scott when they defeated Claire and Anne Rinaldo.
Eventually, the Tigers sealed the victory when Kate Johnston, Liz Lucas, and Elske Parker all won in straight sets.
