Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Nov. 9, 2013) – After earning its first conference tournament semifinal berth since 1992, the Sewanee women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match against Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Centre, Saturday.
The Tigers ended their season with an 11-6-1 overall record. That record is the best finish by a Sewanee team since the Tigers closed out the 2010 campaign with a 12-6-0 mark.
The lone goal of the match came in the 85th minute, as Shannon Murray fired in a rebound attempt from teammate Morgan Collins.
Overall, the Colonels finished with an 18-2 advantage in shots.
Senior Allie White took both Tiger attempts while sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Glascoe finished with nine saves.
Saturday marked the final match for White, Ellie Quinn, and Caroline Burkholder.
Finally, freshman Elizabeth Eidson earned SAA All-Tournament honors.
Note: The SCAC conducted a four-team soccer tournament (top two teams from each division) to decide the league champion in 1991 and 1992.The league went to round-robin play in 1993. The team with the best regular season record was declared the league champion.
In 2012, Sewanee lost its SAA Tournament quarterfinal match against Millsaps.
