Tigers rebound with 3-0 sweep over Oglethorpe

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2013) – After suffering a tough loss Friday night, the Sewanee volleyball team rebounded with a 3-0 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) win against Oglethorpe, Saturday.

The Tigers (13-7, 4-5 SAA) came away with 25-23, 25-18, and 25-17 set victories.

As a team, Sewanee finished with a .298 attack percentage while limiting the Stormy Petrels to only 36 kills on 126 attempts.

Sewanee also made it difficult for OU with a match-high seven blocks.

Individually, junior Jamie Sue Wilson finished with 14 kills and a .480 attack percentage. Sophomore Caroline Montgomery added six kills on an efficient eight attempts (.750).

Additionally, Rachel Schuman dished out 17 assists while Kayla Sewell added a team-high 15 digs.

The Tigers are scheduled to wrap up their seven-match homestand with a 5:30 p.m. match against Centre, October 16.
