Box Score LOOKOUT MTN, Ga. (Dec. 4, 2012) – The Sewanee women's basketball team dropped a 63-47 decision at regional-rival Covenant Tuesday evening inside the Barnes PE Center.
The Tigers (2-2) fell behind early, after the Scots built a 16-point advantage late in the first half. Down 26-10 with 4:01 left, Sewanee cut its deficit to eight, 28-20, by halftime.
In the second half, the Tigers kept pushing forward out of the locker room. A three pointer from Jamie Chauvin and a pair of free throws by Kayla Sewell pulled Sewanee to within a possession, 28-25, at the 18:53 mark.
Unfortunately, Covenant used a 16-3 run over the next five minutes to slowly pull away the final 15 minutes.
Individually, Sewell finished with a team-high 12 points and seven rebounds. Guard Clarissa Medley joined Sewell with eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
The Tigers will look to get back on track with a 6:00 p.m., contest at Hiwassee College, Friday.
