Sewanee and SAA top seed Centre end in 1-1 draw

Box Score

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2012) – The Sewanee men's soccer team and Southern Athletic Association Regular Season Champion Centre College played to a 1-1 draw, Saturday night at Puett Field.

On a cold evening, the Tigers got on the board first when Will Noggle headed in a beautiful cross by Gervais Baker in the 67th minute.

Unfortunately, the Tigers' lead did not last long as Ryan Garvey evened the score a minute later.

Despite being outshot by eight attempts, Sewanee freshman keeper Jacob Zalewski kept the Tigers close with a career-high 10 saves.

Offensively, sophomores Weston Stitt and Ford Emerson led the attack with two shots.

With the regular season over, the Tigers will head to Birmingham, Ala., next week for the 2012 SAA Tournament as the seventh seed.
