Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2012) – The Sewanee volleyball team made quick work of visiting Rust College Thursday evening, as the Tigers cruised to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-16) victory inside Juhan Gymnasium.
The win increased the Tigers' record to 13-10. Additionally, Sewanee improved to 6-4 inside Juhan Gymnasium.
After taking the first set 25-16, the Tigers used a series of offensive runs to take command in the second set. Tied 6-6, Sewanee used a 7-0 run to quickly pull away. Later in the set, sophomore Jamie Sue Wilson and freshman Caroline Montgomery capped off a 5-0 run with back-to-back kills.
In the final set, Sewanee stayed strong. Up 23-16, freshman Desiree Kamerman placed back-to-back aces to close out the victory.
Individually, Wilson led the attack with nine kills. Additionally, freshman Lucy Riddle finished with six kills while Montgomery had seven.
As a setter, sophomore Rachel Schuman dished out a match-high 20 assists while freshman Jamie Kosman led all players with 10 digs.
The Tigers will close out their regular season with a 5:00 p.m., match against Judson College, Friday.
