SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Sewanee tennis teams hosted in-state and SCAC rival Rhodes in tennis Friday and the Sewanee women picked up the 7-2 win over the visiting Lynx. The Sewanee men fell 7-2 to Rhodes.
For the women, Jenny Liles (Little Rock, Ark., Mount St. Mary) and Julia Wood (Tulsa, Okla., Union) set the tone for Sewanee with an 8-5 comeback win at \#1 doubles. The Tigers picked up a 2-1 lead after doubles and all but \#4 singles won for the 7-2 final tally.
On the men's side, Rhodes got up 3-0 on the previously unbeaten Tigers and Sewanee couldn't rally. Rhodes picked up four of the six singles matches for the 7-2 win.
The Sewanee women are now 4-2 and will play Washington University (Mo.) tomorrow at 10 am . The Sewanee men are 4-1 and will also play Wash. U. tomorrow.
