Women's Tennis: #3 Emory Stops #27 Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emory, currently ranked third nationally among DIII teams, traveled to the Mountain Wednesday and beat the \#27 Sewanee women's team 9-0. The Eagles got up 3-0 after the pro set doubles matches and then ran the courts in singles for the win.

Jordan Wylie def. Devin Tellatin 6-1, 6-1

Lindsay Reidenbach def. Michelle Flume 2-6, 6-0, 10-8

Tshema Nash def. Lindsay Wilburn 6-0, 6-1

Sara Vrabec def. Derry Roberson 6-0, 60

 

Doubles:

Dawson/McManigle def. Wood/Liles 8-4

Rogers/Wylie def. Flume/Tellatin 8-4

Reidenbach/Vrabec def. Szyperski/Wilburn

 

Emory is now 1-1 so far this year. Sewanee is now 0-1 and will play Harding and Hendix in Conway, Ark. this weekend. Prior to the 2010 season, veteran Sewanee coach Conchie Shackelford had amassed 398 career wins and will be looking to hit 400 this weekend with a pair of wins.
