Women's Soccer Shuts Out DII CBU With Slay's Late Goal

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The Sewanee women's soccer team played Division II Christian Brothers at Collierville High School near Memphis on Sunday and after 58 scoreless minutes, La'Toyia Slay (Greenville, Miss., St. Joseph's) scored the game-winner for Sewanee off of a Bess Goodman (Greensboro, N.C., Grimsley) assist for the 1-0 Sewanee win.

Sewanee outshot CBU 14-6 and took two corner kicks compared to none for the Buccaneers. Britt Williams (Birmingham, Ala., Altamont) earned the shutout in goal for Sewanee and logged two saves.

The Tigers are unbeaten at 4-0 in 2009 and will host DePauw and Centre next weekend in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play on the Mountain for Family Weekend.
