Sewanee Women's Soccer Plays to a Draw

SHERMAN, Texas -- The Sewanee women's soccer team played at SCAC foe Austin College on Sunday and played to a 1-1 draw after double overtime. The first half was scoreless and Sewanee's Lizzie Butler (Carrabelle, Fla., Wakulla) scored on a penalty kick. Austin's Emma Treau tied it up in the 71st minute and the 1-1 score would hold through 110 minutes.

Sewanee outshot Austin 21-14 and took five corner kicks compared to seven for the 'Roos. Britt Williams (Birmingham, Ala., Altamont) played all 110 minutes in goal for the Tigers and had five saves. For Austin, Kaitlin Elledge played in goal and had six saves.

Sewanee is now 7-1-3 and unbeaten at 2-0-2 in the SCAC. The Tigers will play at Hendrix and Rhodes next weekend. Austin is 7-4-2.
