MARYVILLE, Tenn. 10/1/08 – The Maryville Scots topped the Sewanee Tigers by the score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-19) in a volleyball match played Wednesday night at Maryville College.
The Tigers were led by senior Brittany Roper (El Paso, Tex., Home School) with seven kills, followed closely by freshman Sammie Maddox (Winder, Ga., Athens Academy) with five. Freshman Adrienne Borchardt (New Orleans, La., Ben Franklin) contributed 11 assists. Junior Mary Beth Epps (Memphis, Tenn, Lausanne Collegiate) led Sewanee with seven digs and freshman Libby Boddiford (Forest Hill, Md., Maryvale Prep) had three service aces.
The Tigers are now 3-9 on the season.
Sewanee travels to Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. this weekend for SCAC matches against Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps on Saturday and Hendrix and DePauw on Sunday.
