Madeline Cummings joined the Sewanee Athletics staff as the Director of Athletic Communications in July 2023. 

Cummings helps publicize the department’s 26 varsity athletic teams, aiding in all facets of athletic communications, including social media management, streaming service, and the operation of the SewaneeTigers.com website and Sewanee Tigers app. In addition, she assists with the coordination of the Sewanee Athletics Hall of Fame.

In her role, she played a key part in the implementation of the Sewanee Tigers App and contributed to the rebranding of Sewanee Athletics during the 2024-25 academic year.

Cummings was selected as a member of the inaugural NCAA Division III Athletics Communications Emerging Elite Program during the winter of 2024 and was recognized with the Sewanee Athletics Appreciation Award in the spring of 2024.

Prior to her appointment at Sewanee, Cummings worked as a Marketing Intern with Vanderbilt Athletics during the summer of 2022. 

Cummings graduated from Sewanee in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and was a member of the Tigers’ women’s tennis team. She was a member of two SAA regular season and tournament championships and three NCAA Tournament Appearances during her career from 2020-23, with two seasons altered by COVID-19.
