Dr. Evan E. Joslin begins her third year as the Faculty Athletic Representative at Sewanee.
Joslin earned a bachelor’s with ACS certification in Chemistry from Agnes Scott College in 2008 where she participated in varsity cross country and basketball. She received her doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry (specifically Organometallic Chemistry) from the University of Virginia in 2013.
She taught one year at Haverford College in Haverford, Pa., after earning her Ph.D. She then completed her postdoctoral work at The Johns Hopkins University in bioinorganic chemistry studying metalloporphyrin chemistry.
Joslin is currently a tenured Associate Professor at Sewanee and has worked at the University since 2016 as a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry. Her current research focuses on the synthesis of midrange transition metal complexes for transfer hydrogenation and amine dehydrogenation reactions.
