SEWANEE, Tenn. – Lucas Wrigley clinched the match as Sewanee's men's tennis team defeated Oglethorpe, finishing its conference slate undefeated and improving to 17-1 on the season.

Sewanee took early control by sweeping all three doubles matches. Ben Lammert and Drew Rukavina opened the scoring with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Andre-Remi Jakobi and Samuel Schroerlucke followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 to secure the doubles point, and Wrigley and Max Verellen completed the sweep with a 6-3 decision at No. 3, giving the Tigers a 1-0 advantage entering singles play.

Lammert carried that momentum into singles, earning a quick 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Oglethorpe answered at the top of the lineup, as Kellen Simmons defeated Henry Hyden at No. 1 singles to trim the deficit to 2-1.

Schroerlucke moved Sewanee within one point of the clinch with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2. Wrigley then secured the match for the Tigers at No. 5, posting a 6-0, 6-4 victory.

Verellen added an additional point with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4. Rukavina rounded out the scoring at No. 6, winning the first set 6-3, dropping the second 3-6, and pulling away in the third for a 6-4 decision to complete the 6-1 win.

The Tigers will host Piedmont University and Cumberland University on April 19 to close out the regular season.
