SEWANEE, Tenn. – Mariella Congeni dropped just one game all day as the Tigers collected a Saturday doubleheader sweep over Rhodes and Piedmont.

Against Rhodes, Congeni and Sarah Livingston picked up a 6-1 win. Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win at one, before Emma Caldwell and Ivy Wilson completed the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at two.

In singles, Congeni cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at three. Livingston collected a 6-1, 6-1 win at two, and Caldwell didn't drop any games with a 6-0, 6-0 win at six. Wilson took the first set 6-4 and didn't drop another game with a 6-0 second set win at five singles. Despriet added another point for the Tigers, winning 7-5, 6-1 at four and Carpenter picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at one.

Against Piedmont, the Tigers dropped just one game in all of doubles play. Congeni and Livingston cruised to a quick 6-0 win at three and Despriet and Carpenter won at one, 6-0. Caldwell and Wilson again completed the sweep with a 6-1 win at two.

Cici Hardin cruised to a 38 minute win at six, 6-1, 6-1 and Congeni finished not long after with a 6-0, 6-0 win at three. Harper High clinched the match for Sewanee at four, winning 6-1, 6-1. Bradley Tyer Jones added another point at five for the Tigers with a 6-1, 6-0 win before Carpenter secured the doubleheader sweep at one, 6-4, 6-2.

The Tigers resume conference play against Hendrix on Sunday at 9 a.m.
