SEWANEE, Tenn. – Mariella Congeni and Ivy Wilson won at four and five singles, but Sewanee fell to No. 4 Wesleyan on day two of the ITA Indoor National Championships in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday morning.

Congeni and Wilson both won in a third-set tiebreaker. Congeni dropped the first set, 4-6, but took the second 7-5, before taking a 10-8 tiebreaker. Wilson also dropped the first set 2-6, but took the second 6-3 and cruised in the match tiebreaker, 10-2.

Wesleyan took the doubles point as Sarah Youngberg and Lane Durkin won against Brooke Despriet and Ansley Carpenter at one, 6-2. Emma Caldwell and Ivy Wilson fell at two, 7-5, and Harper High and Sarah Livingston lost at three, 6-1.

Carpenter fell to the No. 1 ranked singles player in the country, Jackie Soloveychik, 6-3, 6-3. Despriet fell at two to Youngberg and Livingston dropped at three, 6-0, 6-3 to Durkin. At six, Caldwell fell to Olivia Chalik, 6-3, 6-2.

Sewanee will face No. 6 Washington University on Sunday at 8 a.m.
