SEWANEE, Tenn. – Fourteenth-ranked Sewanee won a pair of doubles outings and Brooke Despriet and Sarah Livingston posted singles victories before Ansley Carpenter overcame an early deficit in a three-set singles win in the Tigers' 5-4 victory over Colby College in women's tennis action Monday at the Charlotte Guerry Indoor Courts.

The Tigers (6-6) won 2-of-3 matches in the doubles, with Livingston and Carpenter posting an 8-2 victory over Sydney Landau and Isabella Suk at No. 2 before Katherine Petty and Despriet defeated Samantha Riordan and Michaela Landry, 8-4, at No. 1.

The Mules (3-2) picked up a point at No. 3 thanks to an 8-6 win by Amelie Gal and Ellie Gershaw versus Nicole Nowak and Mariella Congeni.

In singles, Despriet claimed a 6-3, 6-3, victory at No. 2, but Riordan defeated Petty, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 just minutes later, cutting the Tigers lead to 3-2 overall in the match.

Livingston registered a 6-2, 6-1, win at No. 4 in less than an hour over Suk for a 4-2 Sewanee edge. Carpenter lost the first set, 7-5, but won the second, 6-4, and led 4-0 in the third before holding on for a 6-2 third-set win, clinching the match victory for the Tigers.

Landry posted a 7-6 (2), 6-3, win at No. 6 against Nowak and Jade Finestone won a super-tiebreaker at No. 5 versus Congeni, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5.

Sewanee plays six of its final nine matches against SAA opponents beginning April 6 at Birmingham-Southern.
