Women pick up win and men narrowly fall against Berry

SEWANEE, Tenn.  Sewanee's women's swimming and diving team powered to a 146-75 victory over Berry, showcasing depth and dominance across multiple events, while the men fought hard in a tightly contested meet, ultimately falling 96-109.

In the relays, the women's team of Aurelia Willett, Eleanor Bishop, Mary-Louise LeMieux, and Ada Digby set the tone with a commanding first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay (4:05.10). In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Natalia Evans, Adelina Willett, Sophie Yanoshik, and Ava Mack teamed up to post an impressive 3:57.76, further securing Sewanee's lead, with another first place finish.

Ella Deitch led the charge for the women in the distance and IM events, taking first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:55.36), the 400-yard IM (4:46.63), and the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.04), showcasing her endurance across multiple disciplines. In the 200-yard freestyle, Mary-Louise LeMieux took the top spot (2:00.63), while Ada Digby sprinted to victory in the 50-yard freestyle (24.90). Digby also placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (56.43), proving her versatility across sprint distances. Katie Walker added key points in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, scoring 220.35 and 174.15, respectively.

For the men, Andrew Olsen captured first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.75) and contributed to a thrilling victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay, teaming with Henry Lindeman III, Josh Kim, and Carter Nabors for a time of 3:14.04. Josh Kim also delivered a swift performance in the 50-yard freestyle, claiming first place (22.50) and finishing second in the 100 butterfly (54.12). Tyler Foster added a strong showing in the 100 backstroke, taking second with a time of 54.98, and Naeem Mangum grabbed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.22), keeping the men's score tight.

Other top finishes included Ella Deitch's dominant distance swims for the women, with Ava Mack and Sophie Yanoshik finishing strong behind her in the 1000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. On the men's side, Bryson Reid and Whitt Davis claimed second and third, respectively, in the 1000-yard freestyle and added points in the 500 free as well.

The Tigers will host UT Southern on Nov 16 at 1 p.m. for their next meet.
