Swim and Dive finishes last dual meet of the season

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Tigers finished the last double-dual meet of the season against the University of Tennessee Southern and Rhodes on Monday night in Sewanee. The men and the women picked up a win over UT Southern but fell to Rhodes on both sides. 

On the men's side, George Mabry collected the best results as he took home first in the 50 free with a time of 22.30 and collected two third-place finishes in the 200 back, and the 400 medley relay. Joining Mabry on the 400 medley relay team were Jackson Pillow, Naeem Mangum, and Joseph Aidan Ocasio. Mangum also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 breast. Ocasio earned a trip to the podium again in the 100 free as he finished in 3rd with a time of 53.23. The Tigers had another relay team on the podium as Connor Engel, Connor Young, Peter Heck, and Pillow finished 2nd in the 400 free relay. Young also finished 3rd in the 200 fly. 

The women had four second-place finishes as Audrey Francell collected three of the four. Francell was just .40 off her career-best time in the 50 free, with a time of 25.07. Her second, second-place finish came in the 20 fly, and rounded out her night on the 400 free relay team with Riley Carswell, Natalia Evans, and Mary-Louise LeMieux. LeMieux collected the Tiger's fourth second-place finish of the night in the 500 free. In the 50 free, LeMieux finished right behind her teammate clocking in at 25.75. Evans also recorded a career-best time in the 100 free, as she finished just .82 behind her opponent for third place with a time of 56.93. 

Ava Mack collected two third-place finishes for the night in the 200 free and the 200 back. In the 1000 free, Sophie Yanoshik collected another bronze for the Tigers with a finish of 11:56.69. Finally, Aurelia Willett posted a time of 2:27.18 in the 200 IM for another third place for the Tigers. 

On the boards, there were two separate 1 mtr dive competitions. In the first one, Katie Walker finished just 2.02 points behind her opponent for second place with 161.25 points, and Greta Cobb finished in third with 145.87 points. For the men, Jack Goodson took third place on the podium. In the second round, Greta Cobb collected first for the women, collecting 216.60. For the men, posting 171.90, Will Sned collected third for Sewanee.  

The Tigers will now look towards the SAA Championships which will take place on February 7 to 10 in Birmingham, Ala.
