Sewanee Swim and Dive falls in Dual Meets

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Tigers swim and dive teams hosted a dual meet against both Birmingham Southern College and Centre College on Friday afternoon. The women's swim and dive team were just 25 points behind the Panthers as they fell to both teams. The men's team fell to the Panthers and the Colonels as well.

Greta Cobb dominated on the boards as they won the 1m event for the women (209.10). Ellie Vincent placed third for the Tigers in the 1 m event posting 121.80. Vincent also took home second in the 3m event for Sewanee.

The women's 200 medley relay team of Risley Carswell, Rachel Little, Audrey Francell, and Mary-Louise LeMieux took home second for the Tigers, beating their own time from the previous meet by 1.20. LeMieux also took home silver in the 500 free with a time of 5:33.41.

Francell took home third in the 100 fly and was part of the 200 free relay team that also placed third. Rachel Little, Maddy Ethington-Carl, and Mary Alice Hubbard joined Francell on the relay team.

Jackson Pillow took home third for the men's team in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.74.

The Tigers return to the pool to host the Sewanee Invitational on October 27 and 28. Friday events will begin at 4 p.m. and Saturday events will start at 9 a.m.
