No. 7 Women's Tennis Finish Undefeated in Conference Again; Wins Eighth SAA Regular Season Title

ROME, Ga. / ATLANTA - The No. 7 University of the South women's tennis team picked up three wins over the weekend, defeating Berry College and Oglethorpe University by identical 8-1 scores to conclude an eighth undefeated season in the league. Additionally, the Tigers recorded a clean sheet of Piedmont in the regular season finale on Sunday.

REGULAR SEASON TITLE
-Sewanee, after winning the first seven SAA Regular Season Championships, came back in 2022 to secure the team's eighth regular season crown over the weekend. 

-Recording a perfect season in league play, the Purple and White have won 52 straight regular season SAA matches. 

-The Tigers will be the No. 1 seed at next weekend's SAA Tournament, which will be held in Murfreesboro, Tenn. at the Adams Tennis Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED, BERRY
-Alice Hall (10-5) earned her 10th win of the campaign with her straight-set win at the No. 2. 

-Brooke Despriet and Alice Hall (14-3), who remains at the top in the latest region rankings in doubles, breezed past Allison Ivey and Juliana Mascagni for the team's 14th win of the year.

-Ansley Carptenter (14-5) won three points over the weekend, including two on Sunday at the No. 1. In the Piedmont matchup, she took down Imani Vincent in straight sets. 

-In doubles, Carpenter and Natalia Nassar extended the win streak to 14 straight and 16-1 overall with their 8-1 victory at the No. 1.
