GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of the South men's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2022 season with a 6-3 result of Southwestern University, Sunday afternoon, in a road matchup.
The Pirates finished No. 10 in last year's ITA Division III national poll. As of the date of this release, there is still not a preseason poll for the 2022 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite dropping No. 1 doubles, the Sewanee team rallied to win the next two points to lead, 2-1, after doubles.

Matt Barnett, in his first dual of the spring, went to a tie break twice in the match. Despite falling, 6-1, in the second set, he secured the win with set scores of 7-6 (0) and 7-6 (10).

Noah Holsclaw recorded his third win of 2022 with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 score at the No. 2.

Talman Ramsey and
Quinn Wicklund each notched their fourth win of the year with their respective wins at the No. 6 and No. 4.
