Swimming & Diving Compete in Weekend Duals

LEXINGTON, Ky. / DANVILLE, Ky. - The University of the South swimming and diving teams participated in weekend dual meets. On Friday, the Tigers took on the Pioneers of Transylvania University, while on Saturday, it was a battle of conference foes, as Sewanee faced off with Centre College.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS, TRANSYLVANIA
-Mary Louise-LeMieux took home three victories, winning the 100 free (55.87), the 200 free (2:01.20) and 500 free (5:32.46). 

-Rachel Little posted a winning time of 2:23.13 in the 200 individual medley, while Maddy DuBois swam a 1:04.63 in the 100 butterfly to claim the gold. 

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS, TRANSYLVANIA
-On the men's side, George Mabry claimed the top spot in the 100 backstroke with a 56.59-second performance. 

-Naeem Mangum cruised to a 1:03.68 time to win gold in the 100 breaststroke. 

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS, CENTRE
-LeMieux picked up two more wins in Saturday's dual with the Colonels, winning the 400 IM (4:57.92) and the 500 for a second straight day (5:26.85). 

-Katie Walker (141.38) and Greta Cobb (186.00) won the one-meter diving events. 

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS, CENTRE
-George Mabry posted two silver performances with a 22.25-second sprint in the 50 free and 2:03.27 in the 200 backstroke. 

-Ben Jackson placed second in both one-meter diving events with scores of 111.60 and 184.88). 

UP NEXT
After spending the first month away from the Domain, the Tigers will open the home portion of the 2022-23 season next weekend with the Sewanee Invitational.
