Swimming and Diving Battles Centre in Dual Meet

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams began their road weekend with Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe in Centre College for a Saturday dual meet.

MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS
-Anthony Carbone tallied a victory in the 400 individual medley with a 4:23.97, missing his personal-best by two seconds. He also swam in the 100 free with a 49.17-second time.

-Carl Failing posted second place finishes in the 50 free (22.48) and the 200 backstroke (2:05.86).

-James Hoyt finished second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:16.60) before earning a 2:05.84 mark for third place in the 200 butterfly.

-Hayden Everett earned third place in the 200 freestyle (1:57.32). The McMinnville, Tenn. native also swam a 2:15.80 mark in the 200 backstroke.

-On the diving boards, Jed Henrichsen won both one-meter diving sessions. The senior totaled 137.63 points in the first session and 172.35 in the second for 309.98 points in total.

-In the 200 medley relay, Failing, Carbone, Benjamin Reddick and Daniel Shrader posted a 1:42.01 time for second place.

-In the 200 free relay, Hoyt, Everett, Chris Lotz and Owen Pearson finished in second with a 1:36.07 mark.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS
-Gabby Acker took home the top spot in the 200 breaststroke, finishing with a 2:29.23 mark. She also placed third in the 200 freestyle with a 2:08.35.

-Kate Mabry won the 200 backstroke with a 2:15.60 mark. Additionally, she earned a second place finish of 5:00.89 in the 400 individual medley.

-Adelle Dennis posted third place in the 200 breaststroke (2:44.08) and earned a 5:33.48 finish in the 400 IM.

-Anna Hawkins Dulaney earned third place in the 100 freestyle (59.82) and she missed her personal best in the 50 free by 1.61 seconds with a 27.70-second finish.

-Virginia Hudspeth recorded a third place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:23.09) before competing in the 400 IM (5:21.08).

-On the diving boards, Noel Whitlock finished the day with 391.27 points to win the one-meter dive. She totaled 168.90 points in the first session and 222.37 in the second.

-Paisley Simmons scored 367.57 points for second place in the one-meter dive.

-In the 200 medley relay, Isabell Loy, Acker, Mabry and Dulaney finished second with a 1:56.18 mark.

-In the 200 free relay, Lucy Rudman, Elodie Cardon-Cole, Delaney Wood and Kate del Balzo timed a 1:51.05 finish for second in the event.
