FULL MEET RESULTS
SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's swimming and diving teams hosted Rhodes College in an SCAC dual meet on Saturday and the Tiger men won 13 of 16 events to top the visiting Lynx 169-99. The women won three events on the day and fell to Rhodes 90-136.
Freshmen
Jamie de la Fuente (Prospect, KY, Trinity High School) and
Courtland Day (Barnesville, GA, Upson-Lee) each claimed four wins on the day for the Sewanee men. de la Fuente won three individual events: the 200 fly ( 2:03.29), 200 back (2:08.59) and the 100 fly (55.81). Day won two individual events: the 100 breast (1:02.23) and the 200 IM (2:07.07). Both men were on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:46.96) along with
Will Overton (Jacksonville, FL, Episcopal) and
Loren Peterson (Oak Park, Ill., Oak Park/River Forest).
Other event winners for the men were
Ryan Holody (Austin, Texas, St. Andrew's) in the 100 back (58.83), Peterson in the 100 free (50.67) and
Peter Schildknecht (Cincinatti, OH, Moeller High School) in the 200 breast (2:21.13).
Lacy Brakefield (Dothan, AL, Houston Academy) and
Julian Davis (Alpharetta, GA, North Springs) tied in the one-meter diving event (126.3 pts.) and Davis won the three-meter event with a final tally of 118.05 points. The men's 400 free relay team of Brakefield, Holody, Day and Peterson took first place with a mark of 3:22.85.
On the women's side,
Alix Kloster (Norfolk, VA, Maury) won the 500 free in 5:31.19,
Kelly Imboden (Marietta, GA, Providence Day) won the 100 free in 11:27.56 and the 400 free relay team of
Julie Bennett (Palm Harbor, FL, Palm Harbor),
Tara Moye (Barnesville, Ga., Home School),
Jaime Dickerson (Brandon, FL, Brandon) and
Mollie Wakefield (Fayetteville, TN, Lincoln County) finished first with a mark of 3:56.87.
Sewanee will host NAIA powerhouse Asbury College next Saturday at 11 am.
