SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee cross country teams competed at the 37th Annual Sewanee Invitational Saturday morning at The Course at Sewanee. The women's team finished second, while the men's team captured fourth place.

-Avery Jordan led all runners with a 25:26.89 time in the 6K race, good for seventh out of 48 runners.
-Maren Czura finished with a personal-best time of 26:12.65 for a 13th place finish.
-Other finishes include: Adriana Hibarra (27:00.84), Hannah Faulkner (27:34.74), Perry Gresham (28:04.63), Mary Ackerly (28:33.05), Sophia Harnew-Spradley (28:41.75), Ellie Herron (28:59.68), Patricia Hammett (29:03.76), Haley Hubert (29:39.48), Luna Goodale (31:51.99) and Kathryn Civils (34:04.96).
-The Tigers finished in second place with 57 points, ahead of Berry, who won the event with 16 points.
-On the men's side, the Tigers ran their second 8K race of the season. Led by Jack Barganier, who ran to a 13th-place finish time of 28:32.42, improving his season-best time by six seconds on Saturday.
-Ash Midyett ran to a time of 28:51.24, a season-best, while Bram Atkins came across at the 28:51.62 mark, also a season-best, for 17th and 18th place, respectively.
-Other finishes include: Ben Murray (30:10.45), Henry Fisher (31:52.36), Rob Ritchie (32:06.53 | season best) and Henry Fields (35:17.68 | season-best).
-Oglethorpe won the Invitational with 25 points.
The Tigers will next compete at the Berry Invitational Oct. 13.
