CONWAY, Ark. - The Sewanee volleyball team wrapped up the 2018 regular season on Sunday, as Sewanee squeaked out a five-set win over Hendrix Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee and Hendrix played a tight-knitted match throughout. In the opening set, despite recording a .472 attack percentage (18-1-36), Sewanee scored the final three points to win the opening set, 25-22.
-In the second set, the Tigers got it to set point with five straight points to lead 24-21 after trailing 21-20. After the Warriors burned a timeout, they scored the next three points to even the set at 24 points apiece.
-Hendrix used a 27-25 and 25-21 set wins in the third and fourth set to force a fifth set.
-In the deciding set, Sewanee sprinted out to a 6-2 lead, but the home team scored eight of the next nine points to take the lead, 10-7.
-The Tigers rallied to even the set at 12, and thanks to Destiny Stewart's four straight kills, the Tigers took the match with a 15-12 victory.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Destiny Stewart recorded season-highs in kills and digs with 24 and 18 respectively. Thanks to five service aces, the sophomore finished with 29.5 career points.
-Sydney White posted a career-high 25 digs while adding seven kills.
-Constance Connolly recorded a career-high 56 assists and added 16 digs.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Lauren Dwyer posted 29 digs and 23 kills to lead Hendrix.
-Jeanette McGrath also added 29 digs.
With the regular season in the books, the Tigers will turn their attention to the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Tournament, beginning on Nov. 2 in Mount Berry, Ga. Sewanee will face five-seed Rhodes in the quarterfinal round. Match time has yet to be determined.
