SEWANEE, Tenn. - Sewanee volleyball took down the winless Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe Saturday inside Juhan Gymnasium, winning the match in four sets, 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Oglethorpe gave Sewanee a challenge from the get-go. Despite Sewanee getting out to a 19-14 lead in the opening set, OU not only got the match close once at the 20-19 mark but twice when they tied it up at 24 after Sewanee could not win the set in back-to-back chances.
-After Oglethorpe evened the set at 24, Lilly Reilly slammed two kills to win the set, 26-24.
-In the second set, the Purple and Gold, despite recording nine kills in the set, committed five errors to the visitors' eight, and that was the story as Sewanee won the second sed, 25-20.
-In the third set, Oglethorpe avoided a sweep with a 28-26 set victory. Just as in the first set, the Tigers found themselves at match point, 24-22, but the Petrels rallied again to tie the set at 24. After the teams traded the next four points, OU dropped back-to-back kills to win the set, 28-26.
-Despite Oglethorpe starting on a 3-0 run to start the fourth set, the Tigers rallied to shut down the Peters, 25-14 to win the match.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Lilly Reilly led all attackers with 20 kills on 40 attacks. Committing just five errors, the freshman recorded a .375 attack percentage. She also attributed three aces and assisted on three blocks.
-Sydney White nearly missed a double-double with nine kills and 14 digs.
-Constance Connolly collected 33 assists and 22 digs.
OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Brianna Chin finished with 13 kills, 11 digs, three service aces and two blocks to lead Oglethorpe.
-Jacoby Sims added 12 kills, while Haliee Bugg recorded 23 assists and 13 digs.
The Tigers' remain at home for another week, as they host Centre Tuesday night for a 5:30 p.m. first serve.
