Stockton sets PR in the 5000m as the Tigers do well at BSC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 14, 2015) – Led by a new PR from Logan Stockton, the Sewanee track and field teams did well Saturday at the BSC Southern Invitational.

Stockton finished 10th in the men's 5000m with a time of 15:46.09. In fact, competing against 37 other runners, Stockton came into the event with a seed time of 16:41.61. Additionally, Stockton finished 13th in the men's 1500m with a time of 4:14.16.

In the field events, Sewanee was led by senior Amy Nelson and Ridge Davis. Nelson, who had an outstanding indoor season, finished third in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 38.58m. She then finished fourth in the women's discus with a distance of 33.55m. In fact, Nelson's fourth place finish was against 33 other student-athletes.

In the men's javelin Davis finished second to Mathew Root of Spring Hill with a throw of 48.07m.
