Divers Shine on Opening Day of SAA Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sewanee divers Noel Whitlock and Paisley Simmons finished as the top-two divers in the one-meter dive Wednesday night to open competition at the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Championships.

-Noel Whitlock and Paisley Simmons finished as the top two divers in the one-meter dive. Whitlock won the event with a 424.90 score, while Simmons scored a 409.45. The duo has already qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional Championships earlier in the season.

-In the 800 free relay, the quartet of Delaney Wood, Lucy Rudman, Sarah Stackhouse and Grace Donner scored a time of 8:45.25.

-In the 800 freestyle relay, Anthony Carbone, James Hoyt, Thomas Young and Lee Haber finished with a 6:59.86. The quartet set a new school record, previously set by Brian Glatt, Ed Dennis, Michael Whitehead and Jackson Cromer, who swam a 7:01.68 in 2015.
