REDLANDS, Calif. - The Sewanee women's lacrosse team were unable to overcome a 5-0 start by the homestanding University of Redlands, as the Bulldogs rough up the Tigers, 11-7, on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Bulldogs sprinted out to a 5-0 lead in the first 14 minutes of the contest en route to a 9-3 halftime lead.
-The Tigers came out strong in the second half with three goals to cut the deficit in half, 9-6. The visitors started the scoring on a man-down goal by Grace Zechman with 27:15 to go.
-Preston Cooper netted the next two goals for the Tigers in about a 3:15 span to make the score 9-6 with 19 minutes left.
-The Bulldogs' defense held the Tigers to one goal the rest of the contest to win 11-7.
-Grace Fulton scooped up six groundballs and caused five turnovers.
-Brooke Winfield forced four turnovers to go with two assists and grounders each.
-Brianna Young (4-4) suffered the loss for Sewanee.
-Amanda Jenkins saved 12 shots for the Tigers in 46 minutes.
REDLANDS KEY STATISTICS
-Lacey Bjorndal netted seven goals to lead the Bulldogs. She also won 11 of the team's 13 draw controls.
-Quinn Egan (5-5) saved eight shots in full time in the cage.
The Tigers return home for the home finale of the 2018 season, when they step back into Southern Athletic Association play with a contest against Hendrix on Saturday.
