PICKING UP THE ASSIST: The Tigers picked up 19 assists in Tuesday's 81-59 win over Berea. Ranked 50th in the nation in assists per game with 17.3, the Purple and Gold are ranked 40th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.16). The team's 52 assists are the second-most in D-III, three behind Messiah.

MAKIN' IT RAIN: After shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc (13-of-26) Tuesday night against Berea, the Tigers are making 3-point shooting a priority. The team is leading the nation in made 3-pointers (33) and ninth in per game (11.0). In the third quarter against Berea, 18 of Sewanee's 34 points came from beyond the arc, as the team finished 6-of-7 in the quarter.

WELCOME TO COLLEGIATE BASKETBALL: During Tuesday's game against the Mountaineers, there was at one point four freshmen on the floor.

Ellie Treanton, who came off the bench for Sewanee, finished with 16 points and six boards on 6-of-8 shooting in 22 bench minutes.

Lakeisha Phillips scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting, while Raquel Waller scored four points and rebounds each and three dimes in 19 bench minutes.

STEALING IS NOT JUST ON THE BASE PATHS: The Tigers stole the ball 19 times in a contest, the most in a game since Nov. 24, 2015, when the team forced 22 against Agnes Scott.

A LOOK AT THE LAGRANGE CLASSIC: LaGrange College will welcome five teams this weekend for the three-day tournament. Welch (Tenn.), Bob Jones (N.C.), Huntingdon (Ala.) and Pensacola Christian (Fla.) will join Sewanee and host LaGrange for the weekend.

WELCH: The Flames will enter the weekend with a 1-4 record after a 13-14 record a year ago. Sewanee and Welch will meet for the second straight year and the sixth time overall. The Tigers have won the first five meetings, and in the matchup last January, the team traveled to Gallatin and downed the Flames, 77-60.

HUNTINGDON: The Hawks are coming off an opening weekend sweep in Pensacola, Fla. against Florida College and Trinity (Fla.). After a 30-point win over Trinity, the team is ranked 50th in field goal percentage (43.8) and 13th in assists per game (19.0). The Tigers and Hawks will meet on the hardwood for the first time in 11 years, with the last meeting coming in 2007. Sewanee has won the first five meetings in the series, averaging a scoring margin of 17.8.

PENSACOLA CHRISTIAN: The Eagles are 5-3 in the early stages of the 2018-19 season. Coming off a 20-win season, PCC has scored 66.9 points per game and have allowed opponents to 19.9% from beyond the arc. Sewanee will meet with Pensacola Christian for the first time in program history.
