SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's basketball team concluded the home portion of the schedule with an 83-65 victory over Berry College Sunday afternoon inside Juhan Gymansium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers sprinted out to a huge lead, outscoring the visitors, 59-29, through 20 minutes of action.
-Sewanee shot 23-of-37 (62.1 percent) from the floor in the opening half, while limiting Berry to a 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) performance from the field.
-The Purple and Gold totaled 45 rebounds in the contest, the most the season. On the offensive glass, the Tigers grabbed a season-best 18, which turned into 21 points.
-The Tigers forced 17 Viking turnovers, which led to 23 points.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Bella Taylor dropped 27 points to lead all scorers thanks to a 10-of-14 performance from the floor. She earned a double-double with 10 assists and nearly missed a triple-double with eight rebounds.
-Hannah McCormack added 21 points and six rebounds for the winners.
-Allison Hitchcock posted 15 points thanks to 4-of-6 from downtown.
-Marlee Smith finished with seven rebounds, six coming on the offensive glass, and six points.
-Katie Roth recorded six rebounds, four dimes and two thefts in 18 bench minutes.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Eveline Parsons led Berry with 18 points and seven assists, while McKenzie Smith corralled 12 boards.
-The regular season finale will occur on Saturday, as the team travels to Centre for a noon tip from Danville, Ky.
