MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's basketball team had a 33-29 halftime lead on the road, but a Rhodes' 12-0 run to open the second half was the deciding factor in Friday night's Southern Athletic Association (SAA) contest. Sewanee falls to Rhodes, 83-62.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee had a cold first quarter with only 11 points on 5-of-16 shooting, while Rhodes sprinted out to 23 points on 9-of-14 from the floor. The Lynx used a 11-2 run in about a 3:30 span.
-The Tigers turned the deficit to a lead in the second quarter, as they stampeded to a 22-6 quarter. Sewanee held the Lynx to 2-of-11 from the field.
-Down 29-22 with 5:22 left in the opening half, the Tigers ended the half on an 11-4 run to take a 33-29 halftime into the locker room.
-However, the second half would belong to the home team. The Lynx started the third quarter on a 12-0 run, as they outscored the Tigers 54-29 in the final 20 minutes.
-The Lynx defense held the Tigers' offense to only nine shots in the second half.
1,000 CAREER POINT WATCH
-Hannah McCormack is 94 points away from the 1,000-point mark with 906. If she accomplishes this feat, she would be the 15th Sewanee women's basketball player all-time to hit the mark and the second this season, joining Bella Taylor who surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her career on Dec. 29.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Bella Taylor led the Tigers offense with 29 points, added seven steals and five boards, four on the offensive glass.
-Hannah McCormack dropped 16 points for Sewanee with eight rebounds.
-The Tigers controlled the offensive glass, corralling 15 shots off the goal to their opponent's 10.
RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Allie Young went 15-of-20 shooting en route to a 32-point performance to lead all scorers. She added 11 boards for a double-double and six blocks.
-Erin Deery scored 16 points, while Jessie Ustick posted 12 points.
The five-game road swing concludes Sunday afternoon with a matchup with Hendrix. Tip is slated for 1 p.m. from Conway, Ark.
