Women’s Hoops Fall to LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. - Before the Thanksgiving dinner, the Sewanee women's basketball team played a Thanksgiving Eve matinee with LaGrange College. The Tigers fell to the Panthers, 64-53, Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-A close game throughout, the Purple and Gold shot 33.3 percent (20-for-60) from the field, even though holding LaGrange's offense to seven made field goals in the second half.

-The story was from the charity stripe. The Panthers shot 17-for-28 from the free throw line, while the Tigers only made five out of 12 shots.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Hannah McCormack tallied 15 points and grabbed seven boards in the contest.

-Sue Kim scored 11 points, with three shots made from downtown. She also tallied four assists and steals each.

LAGRANGE KEY STATISTICS
-Lauren Johnson scored 17 points to lead LaGrange, while Marilauren Farr posted 12 points.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will next have their home opener against Emory. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
