MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Sewanee track and field teams saw new records made at the Berry Field Day Invitational over the weekend, as both the male and female 4x400 relay teams etched their names into the Sewanee record books.

-The quartet of Ash Midyett, Ford McGovern, Erbie Jennings and Letherio Jones set a new school record in the event with a 3:24.39, improving the school record by 0.08 seconds. The previous record was 3:24.47, set back during the 2003 season. The team finished third in the event.
-In the women's event, the team of Kelsie Schiavone, Elizabeth Shackelford, Clay McKnight and Meredith Stuber shattered the school record of 4:11.23, set last season, with a 4:10.90 mark. Three of the four runners, Schiavone, Shackelford and Stuber, were a part of the previous record. The team earned fifth place in the event.
TOP FEMALE PERFORMERS
-Clay McKnight earned a 12th place finish in the 1,500 meters, running to a 5:02.95 mark.
-Molly Montgomery ran to a personal-best time of 1:06.94 in the 400, shattering her previous career-best of 1:06.94.
TOP MALE PERFORMERS
-In addition to the school record during the 4x400 relay, Letherio Jones sprinted to a 22.95-second time in the 200 meters, improving his personal best time by 0.59 seconds. The sophomore finished 16th at the event and seventh among Division III competitors.
Sewanee will wrap up the regular season Friday afternoon by hosting the annual Mount Laurel Twilight Invitational on campus.
