SEWANEE, Tenn. - Head track and field coach Jeff Heitzenrater has announced the 2019 schedule for the Sewanee track and field program. The Tigers will host three meets on the campus of the University of the South.
Sewanee will compete in three indoor meets, all in the month of February. The season starts on Saturday, Feb. 2 with the Tiger Indoor Invitational.
On Feb. 11, the Purple and Gold will travel to Birmingham-Southern for the 'Southern Indoor Challenge at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The indoor schedule concludes with the Sewanee Indoor Invite on Friday, Feb. 15.
Sewanee will open the outdoor portion of the schedule March 2 with the Victor Ice Breaker Duals on the campus of Berry College.
The next weekend, the Tigers will travel to Birmingham for the second time, as they participate in the 'Southern Invitational at Birmingham-Southern.
The Purple and Gold will conclude the month of March at the Emory Classic in Atlanta.
Sewanee will next head back to Berry for the Berry Field Day Invitational April 12-13.
April 19 will see the Tigers at home as they host the Mountain Laurel Twilight Invitational.
The 2019 Southern Athletic Association Championships will take place April 26-27 on the campus of Hendrix College.
The Tigers will look to improve from last season, where nine student-athletes were named All-Conference.
