Men’s Tennis Finishes Season 22nd Nationally, Three Ranked Regionally

TEMPE, Ariz. - Announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Sewanee men's tennis finished the regular season ranked 22nd in the final Oracle/ITA Division III Men's Rankings.

The men's program recorded a 21-7 record en route to its seventh consecutive Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Regular Season and Tournament Championship.

The Tigers appeared in their 17th NCAA Tournament last month, as they dropped a second round match with N.C. Wesleyan. 

Ranked fifth in the region, the team has won 20 or more matches in each of the last three seasons.

Joining Sewanee in the region rankings from the SAA include Rhodes (10th), Oglethorpe (11th) and Millsaps (13th).

Three Tigers were ranked individually in the regional rankings: Andres Carro in singles and Aubrey Davis and Jordan Brewer in doubles.

Carro, ranked 10th in the region, wrapped up his junior campaign with a 10-12 record, including an undefeated mark in conference play. The 2019 SAA Player of the Year enters his senior campaign with a singles record of 35-28 in his career.

Davis and Brewer remain at 13th in doubles play. The duo recorded a 9-3 record at the No. 1 flight, including a 3-2 record against regionally ranked opponents.
