SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams competed at the Sewanee Invitational at the Fowler Center Pool over the weekend. Both the men's and women's teams finished in second place overall.

-Haber also competed in the 100 individual medley, where he earned a second place result of 56.50 seconds. Carbone finished .02 of a second behind the sophomore for third (56.62).
-In the 400 individual medley, Carbone and Haber, once again, finished back-to-back, with Carbone leading the Tigers in this event with a 4:21.96. Haber earned a 4:23.70.
-Carbone captured another second place finish in the breast with a 1:01.48, while Haber also earned second in the 200 free (1:48.71). Later in the 200 IM, the freshman swam to a 2:02.05 mark.
-Haber also won the 200 breaststroke with a 2:14.21 time.
-In the 50 back, Carl Failing earned a second place mark at 25.05 seconds.
-James Hoyt swam the 1,650 free at 17:39.24 and the 500 free at 5:05.30, good for second in both events.
WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS
-Gabby Acker won the 50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events with times of 31.86 seconds, 1:10.61 and 2:34.06, respectively.
-In the 50-yard backstroke, Kate Mabry won the event with a time of 28.23 seconds. In the 100 IM, the freshman swam to a 1:03.01, second place, finish. She also won the 200 backstroke with a 2:12.74 mark. Her third win of the weekend came in the 200 IM, she earned a 2:17.62. Later in the 100 back, Mabry swam a 1:00.88 time for second place.
-Delaney Wood finished in third at the 400 IM with a 5:28.38 time. Late, she also earned third place in the 500 free (5:53.64).
-In the 200 medley relay, the quartet of Mabry, Acker, Kate del Balzo and Annie Heller earned a time of 1:55.87 for a second place finish.
-On the boards, Noel Whitlock won her second one- and three-meter dive events in as many meets with a 229.73 score on the one and a 253.57 score on the three.
Sewanee will hit the road for the first time in 2018-19 with a dual meet at Berry next Saturday.
