Patrick Bain enters his third season as an associate head coach for the men's soccer program.
In July 2019, after two seasons as an assistant, Bain was elevated to associate head coach for the team.
Bain comes to Sewanee after coaching the last four seasons at Eastern Mennonite University. In that time, he developed eight All-ODAC selections and four VaSID All-State selections. An integral part of the recruitment process, he brought in 25 talented student-athletes.
In addition, Bain was a key component in scouting, film analysis, operating training sessions, and academic retention. Prior to his time at Eastern Mennonite, he had coaching stints working within the academy program and U16/17 Boys Gothia Cup Select teams with the Roanoke Star Soccer Club, as well as both Hidden Valley and Salem High School boys soccer programs.
As a student-athlete, Bain capped off an outstanding career at Roanoke College from 2011-2014. While a Maroon, Bain was an All-ODAC, NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region, and VaSID All-State player.
He led the Maroons to two regular season ODAC Championships, one ODAC Tournament title, and a berth into the 2011 NCAA Tournament. That season, Roanoke finished 13th nationally in the United Soccer Coaches, formerly the National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) poll.
Prior to Roanoke, Bain lettered for one season at NCAA Division I institution Longwood University.
Bain lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Taylor.
