SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's soccer team, after facing Centre last Saturday at Puett Field, will turn around and face the Colonels in the Southern Athletic Association Men's Soccer Championship Quarterfinals Saturday in Danville, Ky.

Regular Season Result: Centre def. Sewanee, 3-1 on Oct. 20 in Sewanee
NOT THE FIRST TIME: Sewanee and Centre will meet for the first time in the SAA Championship since 2014. The team played to a scoreless draw in the quarterfinals, but Centre advanced on penalty kicks, 3-2. Sewanee will look for its first win over Centre since 2013, when the Tigers blanked the Colonels, 1-0, in Danville, Ky.
JOHNSTON ON THE PROWL: Sewanee senior forward Kyle Johnston is second in the conference with 11 goals on the 2018 campaign, and six of his 11 have come in conference play. Recording a .157 shooting percentage, the Sewanee native has recorded 62 career points as he plays his final SAA Championships.
UNDERCLASSMEN SUPPORT: Three Tigers have scored 15 of the team's 32 goals. Freshman Evan Poole and sophomore Severin Velasco have each scored four, while Thompson Schollaert has contributed 10 points thanks to three goals and four assists.
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS: Sewanee has secured six shutouts in 2018, tied for fourth with SAA Regular Season Champion Oglethorpe. James Murray has secured three of those shutouts on his own and assisted with one.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: If Sewanee can take down Centre on Saturday, the Tigers will travel to the highest seed Friday, Nov. 2 and face the winner of Millsaps-Rhodes in the semifinals. The SAA Men's Soccer Championship Match will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4.
