Seven Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes Selected to All-SAA Team

ATLANTA - Announced on Tuesday by the Southern Athletic Association, seven men's lacrosse student-athletes were selected to the All-SAA Men's Lacrosse Team.

Thomas Lynde, Hayden Hunt, Grant Gilmore and Ryan Stubits were honored as First Team selections, while Will Pratt, Ian Marr and Cal Pearce were chosen as Honorable Mention.

Lynde earns his third All-Conference selection in his four-year career with Sewanee. The Richmond, Va. native has scored 49 points on 23 goals and 26 assists. His 26 assists are the fourth-most in the league.

Hunt, a back-to-back All-SAA First Team selection, scored 49 points on 35 goals and 14 assists in his senior campaign. The Memphis, Tenn. native, a four-time All-SAA member, is tied for fourth in the league in goals scored.

Gilmore recorded 33 ground balls and forced 16 turnovers, starting in all 16 games for Sewanee. The Baltimore, Md., was named a Second Team selection a year ago.

Stubits earns his second All-Conference nod with his performance at the face off. With 263 career wins, he not only leads the SAA in the category, but he holds the SAA record for most faceoff wins in a season, surpassing Jason Blatt's 234 from Hendrix during the 2014 season.

The Mullica Hill, N.J. native has won 702 face offs in his career and has 364 ground balls.

Pratt, playing as a midfielder, scored 43 points on 27 goals and 16 assists in the 2019 season for the Roswell, Ga. native. The two-time All-SAA selection has 98 career points on 64 goals and 34 assists.

Marr records his second All-Conference selection, forcing 10 turnovers and scooping up 26 ground balls in 15 games. The Charlotte, N.C. native has recorded 23 forced turnovers and 55 ground balls in his career.

Pearce collects his second All-SAA honor as a defender. The Atlanta, Ga. native had 11 caused turnovers and racked up 31 ground balls. He also scored two goals and assists each.

The 2019 SAA Tournament Semifinals rev up on Friday afternoon against host Rhodes College at 4 p.m.
