Men’s Lacrosse Begins Postseason Play Friday Night


SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee men's lacrosse team is gearing up for the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Friday, as the Tigers will be guaranteed at least one more match at historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium. Sewanee will take on Hendrix in the first round.

SEASON OVERVIEW: The Tigers will enter postseason play 8-6 on the year and a three-seed in the tournament behind Berry and Rhodes. The winner on Friday will travel to Berry on Sunday afternoon.

TOP-5 SCORER: Hayden Hunt enters postseason play with 32 goals in 2018, fifth-best in the SAA. His 38 points (32 goals-6 assists) ranks him ninth. Seven of his 32 goals are when the team is man-up, which is a tie for second with teammates Will Pratt and Daniel Burnum.

WIN THE FACEOFF: Ryan Stubits ranks third in the SAA in faceoffs won with 162. He has also collected 85 grounders for second-best in the league.

DEFENSIVE STOP: Cal Pearce has stepped up in conference play with seven caused turnovers inside conference play. He ranks ninth in the SAA with 15 overall.
