10th-Ranked Tigers Conclude Fall Slate in Florida


SANDESTIN, Fla. - The No. 10 Sewanee men's golf team played its final match of the fall schedule this week at the Golfweek Preview. The 54-hole, three-day tournament was played on the Raven Golf Club course.

Tommy Oliver and Gray Matthews led the Tigers, posting the similar score of 220. Oliver, in his three rounds, went 73-72-75 in this three rounds, while Matthews scored 74-70-76 in the respective rounds.

Nic Vandeventer fired a 222 (71-77-74), while Basil Boyd posted a score of 227 (78-76-73).

Nick Powell rounded out the Tigers fivesome, with a 237 (74-82-81) score.

The Tigers finish in 11th place out of 18 competing teams with a score of 885 (292-295-298).

Sewanee will open the spring schedule March 5-6, when they travel to Pine Mountain, Ga. for the Callaway Gardens Collegiate.
