-The atmosphere of Rugg Arena was a factor in the first half, as each team did not have more than a one-possession lead.

-Despite 11 ties and nine lead changes, the Tigers' offense came alive in the second half. Leading by four at the break, 35-31, Sewanee went on a 13-1 run in over a three-minute span to run away from Belhaven.

-The team got the lead as high as 20 points, 72-52, with a Jack Holloway layup with less than three minutes to go.

-Luke Smith scored 18 points and added eight boards and six dimes to lead all scorers.

-Hunter Buescher scored 17 points thanks to 8-of-10 from the free throw line.

-As a team, the Tigers made 20-of-27 from the charity stripe, good for 74.1 percent.

-Rick Hodum led Belhaven scoring with 11 points off the bench as the Tigers defense held the Blazers to 42.2 percent shooting and 29.4 from downtown.

Sewanee returns home for a showdown with 18th-ranked Emory. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 inside Juhan Gymnasium.
