MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Sewanee men's basketball team defeated the Vikings of Berry College Sunday afternoon, 72-66, thanks to a near career-performance by Adrian Thomas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The lane was open for Adrian Thomas in the first half, scoring 20 of his 30 total points in the first half, doing so in 18 minutes of play.
-As a team, Sewanee kept pace with the home team, shooting 48 percent (15-of-31) from the field in the first 20 minutes.
-With 8:58 left in the second half, Berry made it a ball game with free throws by Miles Moore to make the score a 51-49 lead in favor of the Tigers.
-After each team traded points, the Tigers led 53-52 with eight minutes to go. After free throws by Cam Caldwell, Luke Smith led the way, making the next 11 points for the Tigers to go on a 13-4 run to seal the contest.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Adrian Thomas led all scorers with 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting. The sophomore added 10 boards for his fourth double-double of the season.
-Luke Smith got hot late for the Tigers, dropping 14 points and added four dimes.
-Cam Caldwell scored 13 points and corralled five boards and recorded four steals.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Elijah Hirsh scored 23 points and collected 10 rebounds for Berry, while Quinn atkinson scored 12 points in 15 bench minutes.
The road trip continues for the Tigers next weekend with trips to Rhodes on Friday and Hendrix on Sunday. The team returns home on Jan. 26 with a SAA showdown with Rhodes.
