HOW IT HAPPENED
-The teams played a scoreless first half, despite Sewanee out-shooting Transylvania, 7-4.
-In the second half, the sticks for Sewanee came to life with 12 shots, and in the 55th minute, one struck the back of the cage. Elisabeth Domittner found Ceara Caffrey's pass for her second goal of the season.
-The Tigers defense held the Pioneers to three shots in the final 35 minutes of the contest.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Elisabeth Domittner netted the game-winner on six total shots, four on goal.
-Ceara Caffrey, who recorded the assist on the lone goal, took seven shots, five on goal.
-Rachel Blum (4-4) saved three shots for her second shutout of the season.
TRANSYLVANIA KEY STATISTICS
-Caroline Patrick took three shots, two on goal, to lead the Pioneers.
-Allyson Benz (1-12) saved 10 shots in full time.
