Sewanee completes its first-ever Developing Rider Series last Friday

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Oct. 31, 2016)  For the first time ever last Friday the Sewanee equestrian team hosted their own “Developing Rider Series” at the Howell Equestrian Center.

Ashlyn Avent, who rode Solitaire, performed very well. Avent completed a sweep in the Walk-Trot-Canter, Cross-Rails, Maiden Over Fences, and Limit Over Fences.

Hannah Cable, who won her two classes in the Walk-Trot and Walk-Trot-Canter, followed that.

Additionally, Margaret Dupree, who rode Movie Star, finished second in the Walk-Trot-Canter and Limit Over Fences while placing third in the Maiden Over Fences.

Joining her in the top-three were Caroline Godsey on Mayo, who was second in the Walk-Trot and third in the Individual Walk-Trot-Canter along with Tess Myers, who rode Rio, who placed third in the Walk-Trot-Canter and second in the Maiden Over Fences and Cross Rails.

Finally, Caroline Wright, on Sparky, finished third in the Cross Rails while Madison Betcher, on Chrissy, earned fourth in the same event.

The next “Developing Riders Series” event is scheduled for Friday, December 2nd and 5:30 p.m.
